  • Proven and demonstrable experience on Child Protection, GBV, SRHR .
  • Previous experience working with adolescent girls and boys in adolescent clubs and with children in child-friendly spaces (recreational activities), engagement with community-based groups and youth clubs, Awareness-raising activities, advocacy, young married women groups etc.
  • University degree in social work, psychology, and social science will be given preference.
  • Monitoring and reporting GBV incidents.
  • Efforts to address GBV focus on prevention, response, and coordination among multiple sectors to ensure survivors have access to comprehensive services including healthcare, legal aid, and psychosocial support
  • Expertise in gender studies, humanitarian affairs, social work, or related fields.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of international child protection minimum standards.
  • Experience in implementing programs focusing on: working with vulnerable children, refugees, youth engagement,
  • Proven project management and other essential skills, including preparing activity plan, project monitoring, general finance, administration, information management, and telecommunication skills and proficiency in information technology/ computer skills.

  • Fluency in Bangla (both reading and writing).
  • Fluency in Chittagonian and/or Rohingya is a plus for this position.
  • Prior experience of working in greater Chittagong Division and knowledge.
  • English proficiency and Computer knowledge is a plus.
  • Willing to take challenge of working in a participatory approach for Rohingya Community/ Host Community.
  • Good communication, Facilitation and motivational skill.

Responsibilities & Context

Project Context: Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) is going to implement the Prevention and Response of Child Protection concerns through Timely Initiative with Child Engagement (PRACTICE) Project with Rohingya and Host communities under its Humanitarian Preparedness and Response Program, Cox’s Bazar with the support of Plan International Bangladesh and funded by Sweden National Office of Plan International.

Project Duration: May 2025 to June 2026 (to be extended subject to the provision of project extension afterward).

Responsibilities:

  • The position will be recruited for implementing the project based at the Field Office at Teknaf, with substantial field activities at different camps in Teknaf.
  • The job may be regularized after completion of 3 months of service under FIVDB.
  • The Technical Coordinator- Protection will be responsible for supporting the design and following up with the technical aspects of the project implementation, strengthening the referral system, as well as providing capacity building and technical expertise.
  • S/he will ensure case management and community-based child protection mechanism strengthening through the establishment of PSS activities for children and youth, youth engagement, and community empowerment.
  • Communication with the community is the core component of the program, including awareness-raising activities (sessions, broadcasts), life skills, and advocacy activities to promote CPIE standards.
  • S/he will be responsible for executing the SRHR-related activities at the field level through respective mentors (e.g., CPO, CMO) with the assistance of the Technical Support Team of Plan International Bangladesh under the guidance of the Project Coordinator (PC).
  • S/he will be reportable to the Project Coordinator and supervise the case management officer and the community-based child protection officer.
  • Provide technical support to ensure quality implementation of the Child Protection and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) components

The Technical coordinator-CP will:

  • Supervise and provide ongoing mentoring to CP officers on the preparation of life skills and awareness-raising sessions (i.e., CPIE, youth engagement, GBV, SHRH, UASC, DRR). This includes the review and development of programmatic tools, designing training sessions, and IEC material.
  • Support in preparation of Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP), Quarterly and Monthly Plans, and provide necessary technical support to ensure quality implementation at the field level.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual narrative as per donor/project requirements.
  • Supervise and monitor the psychosocial activities in the CFS (fixed and mobile units), ensuring Child Protection minimum standards, child safeguarding policies, and child/youth participation and gender balance
  • Set up, supervise, and monitor activities in different facilities and the quality of the life skills sessions delivered by the workers and the volunteers
  • Set up, supervise, and monitor Community Based Child Protection Committee (CBCPC) activities, including their training and the awareness-raising activities related to strengthening the community-based child protection mechanisms (mapping of existing community structures, community dialogue, engagement, awareness-raising activities responding to the needs of adolescents)
  • Liaise with the Case Management and Family Tracing and Reunification team to ensure that referrals of vulnerable children are made if needed
  • Provide technical support to ensure quality implementation of the CM component by following the Case Management Standards and principles
  • Conduct technical supervision by using the tools as per the Supportive supervision guideline for Case Workers, and work with other agencies where appropriate.
  • Provide technical input for the design, implementation, and evaluation of SRHR activities
  • Provide Capacity Building Support to the field staff (e.g., CPO, CMO) on SRHR rights, Access to SRHR services.
  • Develop/adapt training materials and tools for SRHR education and service provision
  • By accumulating the field findings (both positive and negative), and after summarization, have to share with the Project Coordinator (PC) and discuss in the monthly meeting for minimizing the gaps and mitigating the challenges.
  • Conduct various training, meetings, advocacy events (campaign, radio broadcast) in consultation with PC and in coordination with the Technical Support Team of Plan International Bangladesh, Finance and Admin, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare a success story, visual, or learning materials
  • Perform other tasks as instructed by the project management, as well as FIVDB management

Staff Capacity Building

  • Design and facilitate staff capacity building plan (including appraisal)
  • Contribute to the recruitment process of the officer position and volunteers
  • Provide on-the-job coaching and support to officers in the technical aspects of the program.

Coordination

  • S/HE represents FIVDB and Plan International in the Communicating with Communities Working Group and relevant Task Forces as needed at the Teknaf and camp levels, and sometimes in Cox's Bazar
  • Maintain working relationship with the relevant stakeholders or actors by attending various types of meetings at Cox's Bazar & Teknaf
  • Build partnerships to advocate for improved CP and SRHR services
  • Ensures that FIVDB and Plan International's global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy, including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their areas of responsibility.
  • This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and FIVDB and Plan International's Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
