Requirements

Education
  • Diploma in Culinary Art
  • Diploma/Certificate in Culinary Arts preferred.

Additional Requirements
  • Age 22 to 35 years
  • Specialized training in Japanese cuisine is an added advantage

  • 2 years of experience in Japanese or Asian cuisine

  • Experience in a reputed restaurant or hotel will be considered a plus

  • Knowledge of Japanese ingredients, cooking techniques, and presentation styles

  • Ability to work in a team under pressure

  • Strong communication and time management skills

  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions


Responsibilities & Context

Job Context:

Gulshan Club Limited is looking for a passionate and skilled Assistant Chef (Japanese Cuisine) to join its Food & Beverage Department. The ideal candidate should have experience in preparing authentic Japanese dishes and be capable of working in a high-standard kitchen environment, supporting the Head Chef in delivering excellent culinary experiences to club members.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing Japanese dishes such as sushi, sashimi, ramen, teriyaki, tempura, and other traditional items

  • Maintain food quality, presentation, and portion control as per club standards

  • Follow hygiene and food safety practices strictly

  • Prepare mise en place and assist during service hours

  • Support kitchen inventory management and proper storage of ingredients

  • Work closely with the culinary team to ensure timely and quality food preparation

  • Learn and adapt new techniques in Japanese cuisine as guided by senior chefs
