Job Description

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor/Honors
  • Graduation or Post-graduation in any discipline from a reputed university, with no third division/class in any academic examination.

  • Candidates with an MBA or relevant professional degree (e.g., CERM, CFA) will be given preference.

Experience
  • At least 5 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
    Banks
Additional Requirements
  • At least 5 years in of experience in Investment/Credit Risk management Division, compliance, or related fields in reputed Bank or NBFI.
  • Strong understanding of investment profile and investment risk management principles;
  • Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Investment Risk Management; Islamic Risk and compliance management; Islamic Regulatory Framework of the country.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Grade: SEO - SAVP

Responsibilities:

  • Review and prepare new and existing investment proposals by assessing business, technical, managerial, environmental, and other relevant factors; ensure compliance with investment regulations; and recommend proposals for approval by the Bank’s competent authority.
  • Structure investment proposals in line with the client’s business nature/needs, repayment capacity, and the associated investment risks.
  • Design appropriate covenants, terms, and conditions of investment to safeguard the Bank’s interests.
  • Monitor compliance with financial and non-financial covenants stipulated in investment agreements.
  • Conduct visits to clients' business premises, project sites, or collateral locations as part of investment risk evaluation.
  • Identify, analyze, and report early warning indicators of deterioration in asset quality or deviations from expected performance.
  • Work closely with business units and other departments to develop strategies that align risk management objectives with sustainable business growth.
  • Ensure adherence to internal investment risk guidelines, investment policies, Shariah guidelines, and applicable regulatory frameworks.
  • Coordinate with business, investment, legal, and operations teams to ensure timely resolution of investment-related issues or breaches.
  • Assist the Investment Risk Management team in the periodic review of the Investment Policy Manual to incorporate interim policy changes issued by the Central Bank of Bangladesh.
  • Prepare and compile explanations and responses to internal and external audit observations to demonstrate proper compliance with investment-related activities.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports on portfolio quality, segment-wise investment exposure, non-performing investments, delinquency rates, and other relevant metrics as required by management.
