Purpose of this role:
The Lab Assistant is a member of the IRC health team and will be responsible for the management and performing of lab services, making up chemical solutions, labeling specimens, cleaning and sterilizing equipment, contributing to the procurement plan, and sending time-to-time requisitions.

Contract Length: Till 31st December 2025 (with high possibility of extension)
Major Responsibilities:
Making up chemical solutions.
Performing laboratory testing according to doctors’ advice.
Sorting blood and tissue samples.
Carefully removing chemical and biological waste.
Labelling tubes and bottles.
Looking after equipment stocks and ordering replacements when needed.
Cleaning and sterilizing equipment.
Identification and preparation of all samples.
Ensuring that all procedures are documented and updated as required.
Oversees specimen collection activities.
Oversees specimen referral activities.
Oversees laboratory requisition preparation for outpatients.
Maintaining optimum temperature for lab reagents.
Reports to work as scheduled.
Reporting to supervisor.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with local communities, local government agencies and other implementing partners.
