POSITION PROFILE: The Safety Officer is responsible for managing daily safety operations to ensure the protection of DRC staff, assets, and operations across the Area of Operation (AOR). This includes contributing to Safety Risk Assessments, enforcing compliance with safety standards and procedures, monitoring staff movement, and coordinating emergency responses. The role involves collecting and analyzing safety-related information, disseminating alerts, and facilitating safety training and briefings. The Safety Officer also supports incident management, conducts site assessments, manages safety equipment, and collaborates with internal teams to implement effective mitigation measures, ensuring a secure working environment aligned with DRC’s values, humanitarian principles, and operational standards.
