• Master's in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration (professional qualification likes CA-CC will be preferred)
• 3-4 years’ work experience in Finance preferably in INGO. At least 2 years’ experience in the similar job in reputed INGO
• Analytical abilities, leadership skills and passion to grow
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other financial tools.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Knowledge financial internal control and ability to review internal control mechanism and suggest improvement non-profit organization, especially NGOAB & NBR requirements
• Experienced in preparation of various FD as per NGOAB requirements
• Experienced in preparation of VAT-Tax schedule, report as per NBR requirements
• Assist Manager finance & admin in Planning, coordinating and organizing audits to be conducted by different auditors
• Effectively communicate financial technical issues easily with non-finance and diverse range of stakeholder
• Documentation, presentation and report writing skills
• Good understand on MHIB financial systems and compliances including its prorgamme.

The Senior Finance Officer has overall responsibility for supporting the finance functions for the Muslim Hands International Bangladesh ((MHIB) Office. The Senior Finance Officer responsibilities include internal control, accounting data base management, reconciliation and verification of payment, staff training, budget and treasury and cash management functions. This position will report to Manager-Finance and Admin.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Monitor expenditure and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
• Assist in preparing donor-specific financial reports in compliance with grant requirements.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Assist Manger Finance & Admin in developing annual budgets in collaboration with program managers and senior management, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.
• Monitor budget utilization and provide regular updates to management, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions as needed.
• Assist to Manger – Finance & Admin in preparation of FFR
Cash/Bank – Management:
• Support in processing of bank and cash transactions.
• Review payment vouchers to ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation.
• Perform regular cash count and ensure that documentary evidence is duly approved.
• Prepare cash and bank reconciliation on monthly basis or as required.
• Facilitate the field office on cash needs and related issues.
• In compliance with MHI policy establishes country policies regarding cash holding limits, cash movements and foreign currency holdings
• Timely preparation, review of all monthly bank account reconciliations.
Internal Control:
• Ensures that all policies and procedures are following MHI and funding source policies, procedures, and requirements.
• As required establishes finance and supporting function policies, systems, and procedures, and directs or performs their development, documentation, and implementation.
• Manages the finance staff activities and schedules to meet the financial reporting requirements and deadlines as per MHIB and donors’ policies.
• Closely monitors all financial activities and keeps the Finance Manger advised on all situations which have the potential for a negative impact on internal controls or financial performance.
• Maintains current knowledge of local government requirements related to financial matters and ensures compliance with tax regulations and other legal requirements.
Month/Year End Close-out
• Review monthly/yearly field financial report against the original documents before posting the same on online QuickBooks system.
• Review adjustment Journals to ensure accurateness posting on Accounting system.
• Review and follow-up on the advance, receivable and payable items.
Additional responsibilities: As assigned by line manager or MHIB SMT.
